Solar Panel Cleaning in Liverpool & the North West

Restore array output with safe, deionised water panel cleaning.

Service overview

Solar Panel Cleaning done properly

Solar panels are designed to be self-cleaning in theory and rarely are in practice. Rain moves loose dust but it does nothing about the bonded film of pollen, bird fouling, moss creep from the roof above, agricultural dust or the dark tidemark of grime that builds along the lower frame edge. Industry testing consistently shows soiled arrays losing a meaningful share of their generation, and shading from just one soiled cell can drag down the output of an entire string.

We clean arrays with purified, de-ionised water and soft brush heads on telescopic poles. No detergents, which can leave a residue that attracts more dirt and may void the panel warranty; no abrasives, which micro-scratch the anti-reflective coating; and no walking on the array. Everything is done from ground level or safe access, so the panels, the mounting system and the roof covering are untouched.

For commercial and agricultural arrays we survey the site, agree a wash frequency against the soiling profile, and work to an agreed programme — usually annually, or twice yearly in agricultural and coastal settings where dust or salt loading is high. Bird proofing to stop nesting under panel edges can be quoted alongside the cleaning.

Benefits

The benefits of professional solar panel cleaning

Recovers lost generation

Removing bonded soiling restores the light reaching the cells, which is the entire economic case for cleaning an array.

Purified water, no chemicals

De-ionised water cleans without detergent residue that would attract fresh dirt or risk your panel warranty.

No roof traffic

Pole-based cleaning means no one walks on the array or the roof covering, protecting both panels and tiles.

Frame and edge cleaning

The grime tidemark that builds along the lower frame shades the bottom cell row — we clean the frame, not just the glass.

Domestic and commercial scale

From a ten-panel domestic roof to commercial rooftop arrays and ground-mounted farms.

Bird proofing available

Mesh proofing stops pigeons nesting beneath panels, which prevents both fouling and cable damage.

How it works

Our solar panel cleaning process

  1. 1

    Array survey

We record panel count, pitch, height, access and soiling type, and confirm the safest cleaning position.

  2. 2

    Pre-rinse

Loose debris, pollen and dust are rinsed with purified water before any brush contact to avoid dragging grit across the glass.

  3. 3

    Soft brush clean

Soft-bristle heads lift bonded soiling from the glass and frame edges without touching the anti-reflective coating.

  4. 4

    Final purified rinse

A pure water rinse leaves the panels to dry spot-free with no mineral deposit to shade the cells.
